Please allow more time for travel to and around Lynfield Mount Hospital as project reaches exciting milestone

Large modular units will soon begin arriving at Lynfield Mount Hospital as part of the second stage of the site’s redevelopment. The units will form a new two-ward building, helping to create more modern, recovery-focused facilities for people using the services of Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust.

Modular construction involves manufacturing sections of a building (known as modules) off site to approximately 70 percent completion before they are transported to the final site and assembled.

These modules are scheduled to arrive at Lynfield Mount Hospital throughout November 2026 and January 2027 (dependent on weather). To facilitate their delivery and installation, temporary traffic management measures will be in place around the site. As a result, access to and around the hospital may take a little longer than usual and commuters are encouraged to allow extra time for their journey or consider alternative routes where possible.

From Monday 9 to Friday 20 November 2026 and Friday 8 to Saturday 23 January 2027, large lorries will be delivering the modules to site. All deliveries will take place Monday-Friday, with the exception of Saturday 23 January. These dates are subject to weather conditions and any changes will be published on the Trust’s website.

During this time, there may be:

  • Temporary traffic lights.
  • Areas of Daisy Hill Lane/Heights Lane where street parking is restricted.
  • Increased traffic and some delays on Heights Lane/Daisy Hill Lane whilst the deliveries are taking place.

Alex Trigg, Deputy Director of Estates at Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust said:

“This is a really exciting milestone for the project as we’ll quickly see the new ward block take shape on site.

“Due to the nature of modular construction, a lot of the work takes place offsite, helping to minimise disruption to both our services and neighbouring residents by reducing the amount of construction activity required at the hospital.

“While we appreciate there may be a short period of disruption during these deliveries, this is an important step towards creating a modern facility that will improve the experience of people who use our services.

“We would like to give a huge thanks to everyone who’s working with us during this period and apologise for any inconvenience caused by the temporary changes to traffic arrangements.

“We will continue to work closely with our contractor, McAvoy, to ensure these deliveries are carried out safely and efficiently.”
