Our staff networks

Bradford district and Craven is a culturally rich and diverse area, with a number of vibrant communities. Our staff reflect the diverse communities that we serve and we value, promote and support equality and diversity in our Trust.

We recognise that real support is needed for all staff if they are to reach their full potential. As part of this, we continue to develop and proactively support our staff networks.

The networks aim to support staff from different equality groups.  They also enable our Trust to gain a better understanding of the issues faced by colleagues in the workplace and the communities we serve, and they help shape our work. We also offer confidential ‘reflective spaces’ for peers to come together.

Our networks:

Aspiring Cultures Staff Network

This Network is open to all staff who regard themselves as Black, Asian or from a minority ethnic group. It offers peer support and comes together to act as a collective voice within the organisation.

Rainbow Alliance

The Alliance provides a safe space where all members feel able to share their stories andstaff provide informal support to each other on any LGBTQIA+ issues, especially in the workplace. The network contributes to supporting our Trust commitment to being a happy and safe place to work, where true equality remains key and essential to all our aims and aspirations.

The Beacon Network

This Network supports staff with long term health conditions, seen or unseen disabilities, carer responsibilities and any physical or mental health need. The Network wants to be a beacon to all staff,  offering a safe space to discuss their health, work and caring challenges with peers and people that understand. The network has a collective voice in sharing experiences across the Trust to improve equality for disabled staff and carers. It also raises awareness of disability, equality and carer issues throughout the year.

Reflective spaces

Our Trust also offers reflective spaces for staff to come together as peers to share what they are feeling, without judgement. Reflective spaces can help colleagues feel validated and normalise how we feel by sharing experiences together. These include:

  • A confidential reflective space for autistic staff.
  • A menopause cafe.
