A partnership between Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust and Morley Glass is continuing to make a positive difference to the lives of people using local mental health services, helping more people connect with nature, build confidence and develop new skills.
Over the past year, Morley Glass has provided ongoing support for a range of therapeutic projects that promote wellbeing, recovery and social inclusion across the Trust.
The company’s funding has enabled the installation of new planters at the Trust’s allotments, creating more opportunities for service users to grow fruit and vegetables. The allotment project offers people the chance to improve both their physical and mental wellbeing while learning practical skills, spending time outdoors and connecting with others.
Morley Glass also continues to fund ‘The Pieces Project’, an art charity that attend the Trusts allotment once a month to run a nature artwork project for people accessing mental health services.
In addition, the company has welcomed service users to its headquarters, where they have enjoyed visiting the animals on site. These experiences provide a valuable opportunity to spend time in nature, reduce anxiety, boost wellbeing and experience something different outside of traditional healthcare settings.
Joe Courtney, Green Therapy Project Development Officer at Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust, said: “Our partnership with Morley Glass demonstrates the incredible impact that local businesses can have on the health and wellbeing of their communities. Their ongoing support has helped us create opportunities that go far beyond clinical care, enabling people to spend time outdoors, learn new skills, build confidence and make meaningful connections with others.
“Recovery looks different for everyone, and projects like our allotments and The Pieces Project give people the opportunity to rediscover their strengths in supportive, non-clinical environments. We are incredibly grateful to Morley Glass for their continued commitment to improving the lives of the people who use our services.”
Ian Short, Managing Director, at Morley Glass, said: “We are proud to continue supporting Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust and the fantastic work they do to improve mental health and wellbeing across our communities. Seeing first-hand the positive impact these projects have on people’s confidence, wellbeing and recovery is incredibly rewarding, and we look forward to continuing our partnership.”
