Local people across Bradford and Craven are invited to get their running shoes on to join Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust’s Better Lives charity for a free parkrun on Saturday 25 March at Roberts Park, Baildon.
The parkrun is a weekly 5k community event, where people are invited walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate. The Trust charity are calling for volunteers to bake cakes and support on the day to marshal the event.
Naomi Holdsworth, Service Manager for My Wellbeing IAPT Service at the Trust said: “Physical activity can be a real boost to mental health and has many benefits such as better sleep and happier mood as people release feel-good hormones when working out. Being physically active helps manage stress, anxiety as it gives individuals another focus. The parkrun would be a wonderful event to support mental and physical wellbeing.”
The Trust’s charity team will be there on the day with a Better Lives gazebo, where the team will be sharing information on future fundraising events for the coming year and volunteering opportunities. There will be plenty of home-made baking to enjoy for participants and spectators, and an opportunity to donate to the charity.
