New digital tool to support mental health recovery across Bradford District and Craven
Posted: 22 April 2025
Bradford District and Craven NHS Talking Therapies is enhancing support for people struggling with common mental health problems by introducing Limbic Care — a new digital companion designed to keep clients informed, engaged and supported throughout their therapy journey.
Limbic Care is an innovative app offering round-the-clock access to a chat-based feature that delivers tailored psychoeducation and self-help materials. It’s designed to complement therapy sessions by helping people better understand their mental health difficulties, access resources in their own time and complete therapeutic exercises between appointments.
The app aims to improve outcomes by empowering individuals to take an active role in their treatment and maintain momentum between sessions. Although early in its rollout, the tool is already being well-received by those accessing support from the service.
Naomi Holdsworth, Operations Service Manager at Bradford District and Craven Talking Therapies, said: “We’re really excited to be using Limbic Care as part of our service. It gives people an additional way to stay connected and supported throughout their therapy. The app provides useful information and tools that individuals can access whenever they need it, which we hope will help improve recovery outcomes and keep people engaged throughout their treatment. It’s part of our commitment to providing flexible, accessible support for everyone in our community.”
Limbic Care is available to individuals over the age of 16, who are registered with a GP in Bradford, Wharfedale, Airedale or Craven, currently receiving support through Bradford District and Craven NHS Talking Therapies. It offers a user-friendly, secure way to complement face-to-face or online therapy and helps individuals build confidence in managing their own mental wellbeing.
