We’re Breastfeeding Friendly

The Breastfeeding Friendly sticker that organisations are asked to displayBradford District welcomes breastfeeding here there and everywhere.  Organisations across the district take part in the Breastfeeding Friendly scheme offering a welcoming space where you can feel comfortable breastfeeding your baby wherever you need and wish.

All four of the Family Hubs are Breastfeeding Friendly as are all 27 libraries across the district – just click the links for addresses, opening hours and more information. In addition, these organisations are part of the scheme:

Bingley

Bradford

A comfortable, private and well-sign posted Breastfeeding Friendly space for all nursing mothers next to baby changing facilities and ladies toilets. The market offers a selection of independent traders, food and drink as well as events in the market square, music, arts, culture and entertainment.

Breastfeeding is very much welcomed at the Broadway, which has an extensive range of shops, a variety of food and drink establishments and a cinema.

Situated in the original 1904 Refreshment Room of Cartwright Hall Art Gallery, the cafe is breastfeeding and family friendly with child sized tables and activity sheets as well as good coffee, handmade cakes and snacks, vegan and gluten free options. Volunteer doulas help pregnant women and birthing people make positive choices, accompany them to appointments, provide practical support at the birth, build positive relationships with other services and offer emotional support.

Haworth

A cafe and pottery painting studio at the top of Haworth main street serving coffee, cake, breakfast, brunch and lunch daily. Get creative by choosing from a selection of unglazed pottery shapes to paint and keep – or just enjoy looking at the hand-painted pieces on show while having something to eat and drink. All children and well-behaved adults are welcome! A wide range of dietary requirements are catered for and takeaway food and drinks are available.

Ilkley

The Little Calf Play Cafe, 33 Church Street, Ilkley, LS29 9DR
A child friendly cafe where parents can relax and enjoy award-winning coffee, sandwiches, pastries and cakes. The play space includes role-play stations, toys, reading nooks, slides, and a dedicated baby area. Holiday themed play sessions, family friendly celebrations and party packages.

Keighley

Built for a Victorian millionaire, Cliffe Castle has Victorian rooms, furniture, and art of every style, as well as rooms dedicated to nature, particularly interesting for your baby or toddler. Free stay and play sessions for children 0-5 years old on every fourth Thursday of the month, 10.30am -12.30pm.

Charity run community centre with a wide range of activities for all age groups from pre-natal care, stay and play groups for 0-5s, Saturday Club for 8-11s, creative workshops and a Wellbeing Café providing advice and support to the community.
