School children with Immunisation Nurses

Description

The School Immunisation team promotes and delivers immunisations in 43 secondary schools and 173 primary schools along with children and young people that are home tutored or in alternative provisions across Bradford, Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven.

The team consists of clinical and administrative staff working together to provide a high quality service.

They aim to increase how many children are vaccinated against a range of illnesses through health-promotion activities as well as planned sessions in schools and community-based clinics. Vaccinations include:

  • Human-Papillomavirus (HPV)
  • Bacille Calmette Guerin (School-age BCG)
  • Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR)
  • School leaver boosters (Miningitis and the three-in-one booster)
  • Flu vaccinations

You can find out more detail about the service and the vaccinations offered, including consent forms and contact details, on the dedicated School Immunisations page on the Family Health services website.
