Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust social worker, Janessa Andrews, has been recognised in the prestigious Amazing Social Workers Awards 2024, by the British Association of Social Workers. The (BASW) is the UK’s largest professional membership organisation for social work.
Charlotte Hall, a newly qualified social worker at the Trust, nominated Janessa for the award in recognition of the outstanding support she received whilst training to become a social worker.
Janessa was instrumental in supporting Charlotte as a fast-track graduate on the Think Ahead course and has also supported her through her Assessed and Supported Year of Employment (ASYE).
Charlotte Hall said: “Janessa is the most supportive, kind and helpful supervisor I’ve ever had. She supported me so much throughout my ASYE. I wouldn’t have got through my Masters or the first few months of my ASYE without her. Anyone who knows Janessa always says how lovely she is and how much she cares about her job, the people she works with and the patients she supports.”
Janessa is renowned for her passion and drive in meeting the needs of the people she works with and often goes above and beyond what is required of her in her role to make a difference. She is noted for being person-centered and having a ‘can-do’ attitude to find creative ways to help people in the infancy of their careers. She is passionate about her role as a social worker, keen to make a positive difference to the lives of people she cares for.
