If you live in the Bradford district and are looking for support and information about breastfeeding you have come to the right place. Whether you are an expectant parent, are exclusively breastfeeding, expressing or mixed feeding (breast and bottle), we are here to help.
You can also visit the Breastfeeding page on our Family Health Services website for lots of useful articles and resources or use the contacts below if you wish to speak to someone now.
Health Visiting team
Health visitors are specialist nurses who support families with a child under five.
If you are having problems with breastfeeding, such as having concerns over your baby’s weight or experiencing pain, please contact the Health Visiting team on 01274 221223, Monday-Friday, 9.00am-5.00pm.
If necessary, your health visitor can refer you to our specialist infant feeding practitioner.
Having someone to provide a listening ear and some practical tips to help you along your breastfeeding journey can be really helpful.
Breastfeed Together groups are free sessions where you can chat to infant feeding practitioners and volunteer peer supporters in a relaxed, informal, community setting.
Whatever your feeding goals are, staff and volunteers are able to listen and provide evidenced-based information, to enable you to make the decisions that are right for you. There is no formal structure or agenda, just a friendly space to chat and share experiences and tips.
You may also like to come along in pregnancy to help you feel more prepared for breastfeeding when your baby arrives.
