Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust has welcomed seven new public governors, following elections across Bradford Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven.

The newly elected governors are Aurangzeb Khan for Bradford East; Umar Ghafoor for Bradford South; Imran Khan and Emmerson Walgrove for Bradford West, Connor Brett for Keighley, Paul Hodgson for Shipley, and Michael Lodge for the rest of England.

Mufeed Ansari and Michael Frazer were also re-elected for Bradford East.

The governors represent the interests of their local communities, the people who use the Trust’s services and its Trust members.  They also hold the non-executive directors to account for the board’s performance and if needed, would be involved in appointing key executives including the chair and chief executive.

Alongside the public roles, the Care Trust has also appointed staff governors.  Arshad Ali and Tabaro Rwegema have been appointed clinical staff governors, and Terry Henry is a governor for non-clinical staff.
