Care Trust welcomes new governors

Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust has welcomed three new public governors. The newly elected governors are Hitesh Govan for Bradford South, James Hobson for Keighley and Yasmin License for Bradford West.

The governors represent the interests of their local communities, the people who use the Trust’s services and its Trust members. They also hold the non-executive directors to account for the board’s performance and if needed, would be involved in appointing key executives including the chair and chief executive.

The public governors have now started their three-year terms. If the public want to contact their representative, they can email the Foundation Trust membership office at ft@bdct.nhs.uk.

Alongside the public roles, the Care Trust has also appointed two staff governors; David Hesford has been appointed as clinical staff governor and Aidan Jones has been appointed as governor for non-clinical staff. Both will begin their three-year terms from 6 September.

Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust’s chair, Dr Linda Patterson OBE, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome our new Governors. They will play an essential role in representing our members and their communities. The Council of Governors is crucial to our work, especially in shaping and enhancing our services to ensure they continue to meet people’s needs. A big thank you to everyone who put themselves forward as candidates and to all those who voted.”
