We’re Breastfeeding Friendly

The Breastfeeding Friendly sticker that organisations are asked to displayBradford District welcomes breastfeeding here there and everywhere.  Organisations across the district take part in the Breastfeeding Friendly scheme offering a welcoming space where you can feel comfortable breastfeeding your baby wherever you need and wish.

All four of the Family Hubs are Breastfeeding Friendly as are all 27 libraries across the district – just click the links for addresses, opening hours and more information. In addition, these organisations are part of the scheme:

Bingley

Bradford

  • Darley Street Market, 40-44 Darley Street, Bradford BD1 3HN
    Due to open in late Spring 2025 with a comfortable, private and well-sign posted Breastfeeding Friendly space for all nursing mothers next to baby changing facilities and ladies toilets. The market will offer a selection of independent traders, food and drink as well as events in the market square, music, arts, culture and entertainment.

    Community café and activities.
  • Bradford Industrial Museum, Moorside Mills, Moorside Road, Eccleshill, Bradford BD2 3HP
    Displays of textile machinery, steam power, engineering innovations, and motor vehicles. Play and growth sessions for 0-5s.
  • The Refreshment room, Cartwright Hall, Lister park, Bradford, West Yorkshire,BD9 4NS
    Situated in the original 1904 Refreshment Room of Cartwright Hall Art Gallery, the cafe is breastfeeding and family friendly with child sized tables and activity sheets as well as good coffee, handmade cakes and snacks, vegan and gluten free options. Ilkley

  • The Little Calf Play Cafe, 33 Church Street, Ilkley, LS29 9DR
    A child friendly cafe where parents can relax and enjoy award-winning coffee, sandwiches, pastries and cakes. The play space includes role-play stations, toys, reading nooks, slides, and a dedicated baby area. Holiday themed play sessions, family friendly celebrations and party packages.

Keighley

  • Cliffe Castle Museum Park and Cafe, Spring Gardens Lane, Keighley BD20 6LH
    Built for a Victorian millionaire, Cliffe Castle has Victorian rooms, furniture, and art of every style, as well as rooms dedicated to nature, particularly interesting for your baby or toddler. Free stay and play sessions for children 0-5 years old on every fourth Thursday of the month, 10.30am -12.30pm.

Menston

Shipley

    Activities for children and families. Little Duckling Nursery. Cafe with affordable meals.

    Regular sessions for young families including maternity circle, weight and play, stay and play, baby sensory, baby massage, music box minis, baby ballet and boogie babies. First floor, no lift access. Secure pram park, baby changing facilities.

Silsden

  • The Hive Community Centre, 53-55 Elliott street, Silsden, BD20 0DE Charity run community centre with a wide range of activities for all age groups from pre-natal care, stay and play groups for 0-5s, Saturday Club for 8-11s, creative workshops and a Wellbeing Café providing advice and support to the community.
