Our children’s services team in Wakefield provides school nursing, health visiting and family nurse partnership services (including vaccinations and immunisations) on behalf of Wakefield Council and NHS England.

Our Health Visiting service supports new families on child health and development; our Family Nurse Partnership service supports women aged 19 years and under who are expecting their first child;  and our School Nursing team works in schools and in the local community, to support children and young people of school age, and those who care for them. Our Vaccination and Immunisation team works in partnership with local schools and healthcare professionals, as part of the school nursing service, to make sure that all children have the correct immunisations.

Our teams also work closely with other services such as safeguarding teams, midwifery, child and adolescent mental health services, children’s centres, GPs and other organisations in your local community, to offer support and advice on making decisions about healthy living for you and your child.

Our specialised Family Health services website Better Lives, Healthy Futures has all the information you need to know about our teams and how they will support you and your child.
