What I do at the Trust: my specific role
I am Deputy Chair of the Trust, and it’s Senior Independent Director (a role which involves me in assembling information which allows the Council of Governors to assess he Chair’s performance, and in seeking to resolve and major governance challenges). I chair the Finance Business and Investment Committee, and I am a member of the Audit Committee. I also convene the Board’s task group on Leadership and Management Development, and I maintain the Board’s link with the Aspiring Cultures network.
My generic role
I sit on the Board as a Non-Executive Director, and I share the unitary responsibility, with other Board members, for the services the Trust provides, its overall performance and the staff it employs. I contribute to the development of the Trust’s strategic plans, and I hold the Executive Team to account on behalf of the local community and our service users.
I am accountable to the Chair of the Trust Board, the Council of Governors and the Foundation Trust Membership .
My relevant experience
My main career has been in local government, latterly as the Chief Executive of two councils in Yorkshire. I have also had experience as a board member at national level, for a Government department as one of the Electoral Commissioners. I have been an adviser to the Home Office, Department of Health and Public Health England.
