Appointed Governors

I was elected to Bradford Council as a Labour Councillor in 2016.

I also work as an emergency medical dispatcher for the Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust.  I deal with all kinds of emergency and urgent calls and am the first point of contact for a member of the public seeking assistance in a time of emergency need. My training and nature allows me to deal with my job in an efficient, calm, compassionate and empathetic manner and assist in providing the best service for the caller and the patients.  I deal with people with varying health issues and ensure the safety of all concerned.  I am also a member of UNISON.

I understand the challenges and opportunities faced by healthcare providers. I am keen to help improve the provision of health to the public and to ensure an effective link is created between providers and users.

Since being elected to council I sit on the following committees and panels: –

  • Bradford West Area Committee.
  • Environment and Waste Management Overview and Scrutiny Committee,
  • (Deputy Chair) Health and Social Care Overview and Scrutiny Committee
  • Joint Health and Social Care and Children’s Overview and Scrutiny Committee
  • Fostering Panel,
  • BME YAS NHS Trust
