I want to represent the patient voice to ensure that health services are improved and also to support the health trust in delivering excellent health services.

As a member of the West Yorkshire and Harrogate cancer alliance since 2018, I was concerned that there was a significant health inequality in Bradford and especially reduced uptake of cancer screening services in Bradford city e.g. bowel screening national target is 60% but uptake in Bradford city 34%. I have organised presentations by Professor Sean Duffy to Bradford’s Women’s Health Network and Patients Network to reduce the impact on health inequalities in our city and improve uptake.

As a member of the NHS Bradford Peoples Board since 2018 I have helped to influence the delivery and evaluation of new services from a patient perspective. I feel passionately that post pandemic health outcomes in Bradford must improve and I want to help the trust to make a significant and positive difference
