Headshot of Jimmy Vaughan

Hi I’m Jimmy.

As a sufferer of mental health issues, I understand what it’s like to live with the problems surrounding the illness and the trauma that it can cause. I have been diagnosed with PTSD, BPD, depression and anxiety.

By becoming a governor I would like to use this opportunity alongside my experience to help and my aim is to be a voice to those who feel they don’t have one.

I’ve worked for Bradford council as a refuse wagon driver for 26 years and in my spare time I volunteer for Missing Peace Wellbeing and Support in Keighley helping to run two peer support groups. I also help west Yorkshire police in Wakefield and at the University of Bradford, giving talks about my experiences.
