Anne Scarborough
Appointed Governors
I have lived in Keighley for 42 years. I was born in Skipton, went to school in Keighley and then worked as a teacher in Keighley and Bradford, and a Headteacher in Calderdale before working for Children’s Services in Bradford, Calderdale, Lancashire and Leeds.
I was an Assistant Director in Calderdale Children’s Services leading and managing services for Early Intervention which included Special Educational Needs, Early Education, Youth Services etc. My specialism was Special Needs and Inclusion. I consequently worked closely with health authorities and NHS trusts to support the life chances of children with SEN developing policy and strategies to support children and young people from birth to adulthood. Latterly I worked with Leeds City Council to deliver their strategy to support children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing. I am particularly interested in primary health care and early intervention to enable children to get the best start in life.
I have a passion for joining up Services and believe that if Services work together using their skills and funding to support at the earliest opportunity this can prevent more long-term health and social care needs. Joining up Services is no easy task and needs policy and strategy at both national and local levels and the funding strategy to support it. I would welcome the opportunity to use my skills, knowledge and experience to support the delivery of primary health care across my home district.
