Safe Swallowing team

The Safe Swallowing team is a multi-disciplinary team of professionals who are part of the Learning Disability Health Support team. We support people who have a learning disability and dysphagia (swallowing problems).

Our safer space offers a homely place to stay for one night, where friendly, trained staff will help you to make sense of what is going on, so you can handle things more easily in the future.
School Immunisation team
The Bradford School Immunisation team promotes and delivers immunisations in schools and at home across Bradford, Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven.
School Nursing Special Needs
Our School Nursing Special Needs team support children, young people and their families in the Special Needs schools in Bradford and Airedale. They support children and young people from 4-19 years of age, who are in a Special Needs school and have complex health and behavioural needs. They are a specialist team made up of Admin Support, Health Care Support Workers, Learning Disability Nurses, Children’s Nurses and General Nurses. The School Nursing Special Needs team works collaboratively with families and stakeholders to ensure they are fully involved in service development.

Our School Nursing Team consists of school nurses, staff nurses, community nursery nurses and healthcare support workers work together to deliver services to school-aged children and young people and are part of the wider 0-19 Family Health Services across the Bradford District.

Our school nurse teams work within schools, other education providers and the local community to support children and young people of school age, and those who care for them. They will work together with you to offer support and advice about how to make decisions about healthy living.
Specialist Clinics – Learning Disability services
Specialist clinics for people with Learning Disabilities are held at Waddiloves Health Centre in Bradford.
Specialist Mother and Baby Mental Health service
If you are currently experiencing severe mental health problems or have experienced these in the past the Specialist Mother and Baby Mental Health service offers specialist short-term treatment to support your recovery during pregnancy and after birth.
