Junior doctors – 72-hour industrial action from 14 June
Posted: Tuesday, 13 June 2023
Junior doctors are taking industrial action from 7am on Wednesday 14 June, to 7am on Saturday 17 June.
During this time, the NHS will prioritise resources to protect emergency and critical care, and maternity care. The NHS will only cancel appointments and procedures where it is necessary and will reschedule these.
If you have not been contacted by the NHS, please attend your appointment as planned – the NHS will contact you if your appointment needs to be rescheduled due to industrial action.
People who need care must still access services in the usual way – using NHS 111 online first for non-urgent health needs and continuing to only use 999 and A&E in life-threatening emergencies. If you live in Bradford, Airedale, Wharfedale or Craven and need urgent mental health support, you can call First Response on 0800 952 1181.
You can still get appointments and health advice for non-urgent heathcare needs at your GP or pharmacist.
For more information on when to call 999 and when to go to A&E on the NHS UK website. If you cannot access 111 online, you can call 111.
