Members of the public across the Wakefield district are invited to attend Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust’s Board meeting, which takes place in Castleford on Thursday 25 October.
The Trust’s ‘Board on the road’ meetings aim to reach out to communities that use Trust services. This month’s meeting will be a chance for people who are interested in Wakefield’s 0-19 children’s services to meet the Board and find out more about the Trust’s work in this area, since it started managing these services in April 2017.
At the meeting, attendees will have the opportunity to hear more about the way the organisation supports children, young people and families living in Wakefield. The services, available to all children and young people up until the age of 19, include health visiting for children aged five and under, school nursing and family nurse partnerships for young parents, delivered by health visitors and school nurses from across the Wakefield district.
The Board will discuss how these services and the supporting administration teams have been streamlined and hear from the team about work that is being done to improve the level of care the Trust provides across Wakefield.
The Trust’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Paul Hogg, said: “The Board is looking forward to visiting Wakefield and meeting staff and families who use our services in the district. We’re pleased that young people in Wakefield are already involved in shaping the services we deliver, through some recent community workshops, and we plan to continue this work as we develop our new organisational strategy.”
Members of the public will also have the chance to hear the Board discuss this year’s winter planning to support local communities to stay well during winder. Preparation is already underway, with the Trust’s ‘flu fighter’ campaign encouraging staff to have their flu jabs being launched earlier this month. Staff vaccination against flu helps protect patients, people who use Trust services, carers and families from the flu virus.
The Board welcomes members of the public to join the meeting, which will take place on Thursday 25 October, 1:30pm until 4:00pm at Glasshoughton Centre, Leeds Road, Castleford, WF10 4PF.
