Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust is celebrating after becoming triple award winners at the annual Yorkshire & the Humber Regional Leadership Recognition Awards.

The awards celebrate people at all levels and in all professions who have improved people’s health and the public’s experience of the NHS by providing exceptional care every day.

The Board of Directors were announced as the winners of the ‘Board/Governing Body of the Year’, Tracey Corner, Patient Experience  and Friends and Family Test Lead scooped the ‘Patient Champion of the Year’ accolade and Lisa Wright, Head of Equality and Work Experience won the title of Leader of Inclusivity of the Year.

The Trust and Board of Directors have been noted for their leadership in delivering high quality services and strong financial performance, whilst continuing to innovate, engage and develop staff and explore new ways of working with partners across the health and social care spectrum.

Lisa has been instrumental in leading a number of equality and inclusion initiatives within the Trust including the Moving Forward programme, aimed at aspiring leaders from Black, Asian and ethnic minority backgrounds. Lisa’s integrity and belief in fairness and opportunity drives all that she does.

Tracey’s care and compassion has seen her drive innovation and change to improve the experience of patients and carers.  This has included touring a campervan around the district to get the views of service users and the Carers in Action programme, which gives carers a chance to share views, information and support.

This latest recognition follows an already successful year for the Trust, achieving Foundation Trust status earlier this year and being named as one of top 120 places to work in healthcare.

The event was hosted by former Olympian world champion Colin Jackson CBE at the Marriott Hotel in Leeds on the 25 November.

Michael Smith, Chair said: “We’re delighted to have become triple award winners at this prestigious ceremony.  Winning these accolades reflects the hard work, dedication and commitment of all our staff and volunteers. Bringing these awards back to Bradford is a testament to our commitment to providing the best possible care for the whole community.”

The triple award winners will now go forward and represent the region at a national award ceremony next year.
