Better Lives charity, the charitable arm of Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust, has raised £18,000 at the 2024 P.E.C. charity ball. The funds will be used to enhance care for communities across Bradford, Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven, to support their physical and mental wellbeing.
The event was generously hosted by Bradford-based contracting and manufacturing company P.E.C. at the prestigious Aria Suite in Leeds. It was presented by Apprentice finalist Dr Paul Midha, with guest speaker, former Bradford Bulls player, Robbie Hunter-Paul. Over 200 attendees from local businesses supported the event, which included a charity raffle and auction.
Sohan Panesar, Managing Director, P.E.C., commented on the event: “It was a fantastic ball and it was amazing to have so many businesses sponsoring prizes and attending. We are proud to continue to support our local NHS charity and the great work that it does.”
The Better Lives charity raises funds to support additional activities for patients and carers across the Care Trust’s mental health, learning disability, community and children’s services. The charity funds activity that goes beyond the Care Trust’s core NHS provision.
Catherine Jowitt, Head of Charity and Volunteering at Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust, said: “We would like to give a heartfelt thank you to P.E.C. for their generous support and to all the guests, sponsors, and volunteers who helped make the night such a huge success. More importantly, it raised a fantastic fundraising amount for our charity.”
Alongside P.E.C., the evening was also supported by many local businesses including PS Projects, Sekhon Group, Sonic Direct, Narang, AW Lumb, Build4U, LS1 Dental, Xpand Marketing and Soul Asia.
