Staff from Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust’s Human Resources team Staff from Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust’s Human Resources team have won a prestigious award at the Healthcare People Management Association Excellence in Human Recource Management annual awards.

The team won first prize in the leadership development category for their unique programme, Engaging Leaders. The Engaging Leaders programme supports leaders at all levels to develop skills, knowledge and confidence to lead their work, teams and deliver high quality care services.

Hazel Murgatroyd, Leadership and Organisational Development Manager at the Care Trust, said: “Winning this award is a fantastic acknowledgement of the difference we can make when we bring people together to learn, connect, share and inspire each other.   Engaging Leaders has created a space for this to happen and continues to develop a culture where people really matter.”

So far over 330 employees at the Trust have succussfully completed the programme which has made a positive difference to their working lives. Participants said they felt more self-aware and confident after the programme and are listening more, encouraging ideas and involving team members in change.

The Trust beat off stiff competition from Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust and Derbyshire Community Health Service NHS Foundation Trust to win the award.

The judges praised the Care Trust’s Engaging Leaders programme for it’s approach in leadership development.
