Meeting Health Care Acquired Infection Requirements
Bradford District Care Trust is pleased to confirm that it meets the Care Quality Commissions registration requirements on HCAI. All Trusts are required to make a self-declaration to the Care Quality Commission stating how well they meet the registration requirement for HCAI. There is a set of nine detailed standards (part of the Hygiene Code) which each Trust needs to make an assessment against. Bradford District Care Trust has assessed that it meets the registration requirements. The Trust has also identified some areas for improvement over the next few months and has submitted action plans to the Care Quality Commission for implementing these improvements. In summary these plans will ensure that:
- Infection control is discussed routinely in staff appraisals
- Infection control risks and plans to manage these risks are included in the Trust Transfer policy
- A Dress Code Policy that meets infection control requirements is in place
- All Occupational Health policies are fit for purpose
