Declarations
We are sometimes required by our regulators to make declarations and to make these declarations available for the public to see.

All NHS Trusts are required to meet the Care Quality Commissions registration requirements relating to HCAI. There is a set of nine detailed standards (part of the Hygiene Code) which each Trust needs to make an assessment against; Bradford District Care Trust has assessed that it meets all of the requirements. We continue to audit our services and as a result undertake any necessary improvements to ensure that we maintain and improve our services accordingly.
Infection Prevention
We are committed to reducing the risk of infection and ensuring service users/patients are cared for in an environment which meets high standards of infection prevention. Our annual report gives a summary of the work undertaken to achieve this.
Registration with the Care Quality Commission (CQC)
All NHS Trusts are required to register their services with the Care Quality Commission and to meet a set of specific requirements / outcomes in relation to this registration. Bradford District Care Trust is fully registered for all services currently provided. Following recent inspections by the CQC, the Trust has been rated as fully compliant with all of the registration requirement (previously non-compliant with record keeping requirements). This is an excellent position for the Trust to be in and work is on-going to ensure that we continue to meet the standards and improve performance; the full set of standards is available on the CQC web site and is entitled ‘Essential Standards of Quality & Safety’ (March 2010).
Plan for Eliminating Mixed Sex Accommodation 2010/11
We are fully committed to ensuring all service users continue to be cared for within a strong framework for gender services. All service users who are cared for in our hospital wards can expect to receive care that is gender sensitive to men, women and transsexuals. We welcome the Department of Health standards for achieving standards in same sex accommodation to build on our progress in the provision of gender sensitive services (DoH Into the Mainstream) and our work on privacy and dignity for all service users.

Public Consultations
Our duty is to ask you…
We have public consultations to gain your feedback about a number of things including services we provide, suggested service changes and your thoughts on healthcare issues. Our public consultations are an opportunity for you to have your say.
Click here for more about our public consultations:We have a duty to involve service users/patients under section 242 (1b) of the NHS Act 2006. The duty makes sure that public health bodies involve the people who use their services, either directly or through representatives, in:
- the planning and provision of services
- proposals for changes in the way services are provided
- decisions affecting the way services operate
We need to ask you for your views if proposals or decisions will affect the range of services being delivered to you, or if plans may change the way your service will work.
